Fingerprints

As I paint these brushstrokes I am aware of their role as records, both of a time and place in my life and evolution, and also as a direct translation of brief movements across the page captured in sequence like individual strands of DNA. The hesitation or confidence with which I paint is evident and unavoidable, like a macroscopic body language I cannot hide or hide behind. They are as unique to the moment in which they are created as they are unique to me. They are an extension of my ever-changing identity, and a testament to the power at my fingertips.
